The new Children and Young People (CYP) Directory of Mental Health and Wellbeing Services is an essential resource designed to help children, young people, parents, and caregivers across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland find out about support services and access the support they need. The directory offers a comprehensive list of local services, from mental health support to wellbeing initiatives, empowering young people to find the right help at the right time.
Since its launch, the directory has seen incredible engagement, with over 1,096 downloads so far. This early success is a testament to the importance of providing accessible, easy-to-navigate tools for mental health and wellbeing. We’ve worked closely with local networks, services, and community leaders, holding engagement sessions and presentations to raise awareness and ensure that the directory reaches those who need it most.
In addition to these outreach efforts, we’ve hosted pop-up engagement sessions in schools and local retail stores, allowing us to connect directly with young people, parents, and educators. These pop-ups have been a fantastic way to demonstrate how the directory works and to gather feedback on how we can improve the resource.
Ongoing promotional activities are planned to further extend the reach of the directory. We are continuously working with partners across education, healthcare, and community services to keep promoting this vital tool and expand its usage.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the continued development of the CYP directory. We believe it will play a significant role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people across our region, providing them with the resources they need to thrive. As we move forward, we remain committed to making this directory a valued and trusted tool for our communities.
